Marking their bicentenary with a return to the building where the school was located for more than half that time, ECAL is presenting an exhibition of graduate works at the Espace Arlaud on the Place de la Riponne.
Usually an exhibition that takes place at their current home in Renens, this return to the Lausanne city center is an opportunity for the larger public to get a peek at what may be the art stars and designers of tomorrow.
Spread out over 4 floors of the Espace Arlaud, the exhibition includes works from many of the school’s different specializations including photography, graphic design, visual arts, luxury craftsmanship, product design, and cinema. As a result, the exhibition encompasses different artistic visions, mediums, and languages looking at formal art practices as well as the practical application of design within everyday life. This offers the visitor a varied experience that is entertaining, informative, and interesting. Whether it be the provocative figurative paintings of Lara Marino, Trolle Rudebeck Haar’s innovative floating sauna, or any other of the numerous creations, the exhibition makes for the perfect cultural pause during an afternoon, or a quick detour before shopping at the market.
Reasonably priced at only 6 CHF per adult, free for under 25, and just 4 CHF for students and AVS, it’s worth stopping by.
Note: Covid Certificates are required and it’s also free the first Saturday of the month.
