Let’s Fiesta: TLG x Eat Cinco de Mayo Party

CALLING ALL FLAVOR ADDICTS! It’s time to spice up apéro–and we’ve just the occasion.

Scroll down for details!

We’ve now been living in Switzerland for nearly a decade (what?!) and while we have come to love so many traditions of our adopted alpine country, there are always a few traditions that we miss about being back in the States. Cinco de Mayo is definitely one of them.

With roots in California and Texas, Mexican food and culture was such an important part of our childhood and has now become a necessity in our adulthood. And while Cinco de Mayo has perhaps become a westerner’s excuse to eat delicious tacos and drink margaritas, we say—do we even need an excuse? It’s tacos and margs! We have had so.much.fun celebrating other traditions with you in the past (our Thanksgiving dinner will always go down as a favorite, and our Christmas Cocktails was beyond epic), that we decided it was time to add another notch to our party belt and host a Mexican-inspired apéro with one of our all time favorite restaurants and cocktail bars in town, Eat Me.

We knew that if we wanted this apéro done right, we would need the meticulous detail-oriented, flavor-loving, creative and fun team at Eat Me to make this an unforgettably delicious fiesta.

So what else can you expect on the menu besides these insanely addicting Cochinita Pibil Tacos and hand crafted Don Julio margaritas?  After all, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill apéro. Picture guacamole, ceviche, spicy quinoa salad, sweet potato wedges, and of course a selection of wine, beer, and soft drinks. Your tummies will be happy, and hopefully your heart too. We can’t wait to see you!

Apéro Deets:

  • 1 place is 55 CHF, which includes all food and drinks. Yep, everything. No, you’re not limited to one taco. Yes, you can have multiple margaritas. No, there are no hidden fees. Yes, we’re sure this is the price. Yes, we’re aware we are living in Switzerland.
  • You need to reserve your spot ahead of time, so you can either pay for your ticket using this PayPal link (it will route to our events account managed by Jackie), or you can email us at events@old.thelausanneguide.com
  • The apéro will run from 17h30-19h at Eat Me, but feel free to stick around and continue partying as we will also have a DJ spinning live tracks (bring some dancing shoes!).
  • We genuinely cannot wait to stuff our faces with tacos alongside you. #solidarity.

Here’s a fun little sneak peek of the drink of choice for the evening: The Margarita.
