Summer is in full swing, and our calendars are reflecting the vibe. With music festivals, food tours, ice cream tastings, and Festival de la Cité – there’s something for everyone! Here’s our look at some of the events happening this week in and around Lausanne.
All week
Each year Montreux Jazz Festival showcases free concerts, DJ sets, and activities, from noon to 5 am! Pool parties, silent discos, open-air concerts, jam sessions, workshops, and all-night electro events: which one will you pick?
It’s that time of year again – Festival de la Cité is completely free for the audience and includes theatre, visual arts, dance performances, acrobatics, live music, and kids’ shows. Don’t miss this annual urban and contemporary festival running from Tuesday until Sunday.
Change up your dining scene by grabbing a picnic to go from one of Lausanne’s local cafés and restaurants and head to a nearby park.
Discover the best ice cream artisans from Lausanne and vote for your favorite ice cream shop.

You don’t need to be an expert cyclist to enjoy yourself at the Tour de France this weekend. The eighth stage of the Tour will leave Dole in the Jura mountains and end in the Vaud capital on Saturday, July 9, finishing in front of the Pontaise Olympic stadium after cycling through town, where the peloton will tackle over 9 km of Lausanne’s hills. A final effort that promises a great show!
Sunday, July 10
How do you combine sport, delicacies, and culture in one event? That’s the challenge of Move & Brunch! Don’t miss it on Sunday in the beautiful parc de l’Hermitage.
