January 21 – 27, 2019

It’s that time of the year again–The World Snow Festival begins this week in Grindelwald. We’ve never made the trek, but we hear it’s absolutely phenomenal. Have you been?

If you prefer to stay local this week (or have to, because, ya know, jobs), don’t fret! There are so many activities and events this week that are sure to keep us all busy, happy, well-fed, and maybe a bit buzzed 😉 Have a great week, friends!

Monday

The World Snow Festival begins in Grindelwald.

Tuesday

It’s apparently sold out, but we’ve gotta give a shout out to our friends at FoodHack who are hosting THE Emma from Street Kitchen and the dynamic duo Steeve and Davide from Ça Passe Crème on Tuesday night at the FoodPreneurs Meetup (major FOMO happening over here). They host these meetups regularly and feature dynamic entrepreneurs from the local food industry–so make sure to follow them on IG and Facebook!

Watch the Lausanne Hockey team face Bern on Tuesday night at Malley.

If you like ’80s music, then you have to head to Lapin Vert for their Vintage Tuesdays.(except can we talk about how we don’t like the ’80s being referred to as “vintage”??)

Wednesday

Like improv? Like musicals? Then perhaps check out Cafe des Artistes lineup the third Wednesday of each month.

The Théâtre de Marionnettes de Lausanne showcases an adorable story of three unlikely friends (a rabbit, a duck, and a pig) who decide to help out a stork deliver a baby in Avignon…only they don’t know how to get there. Bound to be a delightful performance, and welcoming ages from 4+ (the show will be going on until the 6 of February). Grab your tickets here.

Thursday

CPO is hosting a flea market every week on Thursdays.

Ok guys, this is pretty cool. The Musée de L’Elysée has been co-residing with INT studio and they’ve been working for 3 MONTHS experimenting with and developing a sound narrative device driven by the movement of the eyes. And they’re inviting the public to discover the first results of this project this Thursday, followed by an aperitif. Plus IT’S FREE!

L’Atelier is hosting an evening with artists Baptiste and Ego Hurlates as they finish their exposition. Learn more about the artists and also limited edition pieces that can be purchased in the presence of the artists on Thursday evening.

Afterwork HipHop at Cafe Louve.

Coq au Vin and vin bio. Sounds like a perfect combo. Head to Lacustre on Thursday starting at 17h30 to sample organic wines, eat some yummy food, all in the presence of the winemaker.

Friday

Curious about coffee roasting? Also like cocktails? Head to Brasserie de Montbenon this Friday where The Coffee Society will be holding a FREE informative workshop and there will be coffee cocktails aplenty.

Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean the party stops. La Galicienne is hosting an electromusic concert with “visuals”.

Saturday

Afternoon tea in the cozy Cuppins. It’s the last one they’re hosting this season, so be sure to stop by.

And if you miss that tea time, you can head to Jazzy Tea Time at the Lausanne Palace.

A silent party and live music at Casino de Montbenon.

Sunday

Grab your family, friends, or go solo–the 19th annual “Brevet des armaillis” is an organized snowshoe hike from Les Paccots to Moléson-sur-Gruyères. It’s for all skill-levels, with an emphasis on having fun and appreciating being out in nature.
