The disco ball makes a comeback at JAJA, a new bar and nightclub in the heart of Lausanne designed by none other than the talented Studio Julia Christ.
Entering into JAJA is like pulling back the curtain on an eclectic universe reminiscent of the mythical and thrilling London party scene of the ‘90s. The contrast of sophistication and provocation sits comfortably here, with sequinned pillows adorning vintage furniture and peacock feathered wallpaper leading you downstairs to the underground dance floor.
Yes, you heard that correctly—a dance floor. Downstairs you’ll find a more intimate atmosphere, complete with a back bar for all of your cocktail desires, and a DJ playing tunes that are bound to get you feeling the beat. Disco balls spin playfully overhead, reflecting off of the mirrored tiles scattered across the walls in a delightful way.
For those who have meandered over from sister restaurant, Sardine, you can partake in an after-dinner digestif or nightcap. And those who are starting their evening at JAJA can try out one of their specialty cocktails like the Tokyo Mule made with yuzu while snacking on their small bites like freshly shaved ham and other nibbles created by Sardine chef Alexis le Tadic.
For what it’s worth, we think we can all agree that after the past two years we have good reason to dust off our festive attire and celebrate a certain return to what we once called ‘a night out’.
