Mug & coaster lettering workshop with Lama Tassabihji Adra
We are happy to invite you to the lettering workshop with a renowned artist from the region – Lama Tassabihji Adra. During the workshop you will be able to make your mug by hand as well as 2 coasters. A self-taught lettering artist, since 2016 with a passion for two things, coffee and pens.
Llama lettering has evolved over the years to become bespoke and handcrafted for each event or season. Her lettering can be found on murals, chalkboards, digitally online and anywhere she can reach with a pen.
In this workshop, Lama will walk you through a brief introduction to the basics of hand lettering. You will play with pens, strokes and styles, and get tips and tricks on how to use hand lettering in everyday life. The focus of this workshop will be to play with lettering styles and mix colors, create a piece made up of letters, and transfer the designs onto a mug and coasters using specific pens for each service. Lama will guide you through the creative process, which will take you from designing the lettering piece, to preparing the mug and coasters, different transfer methods, and finally sealing the items.
Some topics we will cover in our session: • Basic strokes for hand lettering • Different writing styles • Combining different writing styles • Designing a legible and harmonious piece. • Some surprise bonus tips will also be shared We will apply the lettering skills used to design and personalize a mug and two wooden coasters. Both of these items will be lettered and personalized by you with the skills you will learn during our session.
