OCL presents Grand Concert No. 5
The year 2022 marks the 400th anniversary of Molière’s birth. The OCL, in this 2022-2023 season, is associated in its own way with the festivities celebrating the brilliant playwright and offers to taste the charms of Richard Strauss ‘s Bourgeois Gentilhomme . The colorful and beautifully expressive orchestra will be joined for the occasion by the percussive piano of Guillaume Bellom to evoke the main events of Molière’s play. Through this suite of neo-classical spirit, where the musician does not hesitate to borrow some themes from Jean-Baptiste Lully, we witness the multiple and joyful setbacks of Monsieur Jourdain, a bourgeois of Paris dreaming of being a man of the Court.
And as one pleasure calls for another, this fifth Grand Concert will also allow you to hear Renaud Capuçon and Guillaume Bellom perform some beautiful concerto passages by Mozart.
