To say that Covid has forced us to reconsider so many aspects of our daily lives is a massive understatement. We are acutely aware of the many people who have lost their lives to this virus, to the many people who are on the frontlines risking themselves daily to keep us healthy and safe, and the many people who are losing their jobs, their stability, and suffering from isolation, fatigue, and depression.
But we also know that it is extremely important to look for the positive too. We have been blown away by the solidarity shown in our community; the small and big acts of kindness, the zoom support circles and apéros, the desire to spend locally, the banding together of creatives and entrepreneurs to lend a helping hand, the emails to check-in, the meals dropped by the door, the surprise wine in the mailbox, the handwritten letters. What a beautiful time to see, in the face of fear and uncertainty, that there. is. goodness. YOU have reminded us that there is goodness.
And this is the reason we’ve decided to begin our Covid diaries. Not to dwell in the depths of this pandemic, but to sift through this collective human experience and find the stories that bind us all together. We want to hear what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. Because processing through sharing is part of the healing, don’t you think?
We’re in this together. And we hope you’ll find some comfort as we share (y)our stories.
