It’s that time again: sun, lake, warm weather, spritz, planchettes, and friends. After two years of restrictions and uncertainty, we deserve to enjoy ourselves and take care of what I deem “the holy trinity”: mind, body, and food. Here are 3 ways to treat yourselves in Lausanne this summer.
Ease your mind at the Royal Savoy Lausanne Spa
First, let’s take a dive into the pool of the Royal Savoy Lausanne’s Spa during their “Happy hour” from Monday to Friday.
Think “Happy Hour” is only reserved for cocktails and food? Think again. At the Royal Savoy, you can have a different version of Happy Hour with access to the 1.500 m2 facilities from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m for 60 CHF.
Immerse yourself in either their indoor or outdoor swimming pools, sunbathe and read on one of the deckchairs, and take some time out of your workday to disconnect.
Inside, choose from either the women’s area or in the mixed area, to sweat out your stress using one of the two saunas or hammams. If you have the courage, follow your steam session with a cold-water plunge or rubbing yourself with ice from the fountain.

In summer, food goes well with after-work gatherings with friends, spritz, and music.
Every Thursday and Friday, from 5 p.m until. 9 p.m, Côté Jardin at Lausanne Palace transforms itself to welcome guests for an after-work with live music.
Prosecco, cocktails, and Italian planchettes are available to order to enjoy yourself with a perfect view of the lake from the terrace.
Come and fill your soul with good food and amazing live music.
Body workouts with a view : La Générale, La Jetée de la Compagnie and Calmos Club
To appreciate summer to the fullest, we need to look after our bodies, but the idea of being in an indoor sports club isn’t always so appealing. Here are 3 different spots where you can work out while taking in the gorgeous views.
Every Friday, during lunch break, Laura (@sweatwithlau) will help you reinforce your core body by doing 1 hour of Pilates in front of the lake. From beginner to advanced, everybody will find his own pace and see the results on their abs and bum. And for me, Pilates has always improved my posture and relieved my back pain.
Laura is a trainer at Beat Fitness in Lausanne and is going to motivate you so much that you will enjoy sweating and treating your body with this practice.
Yoga Sur La Deck at Jetee de la Compagnie
Every morning from April until October, la Jetée de la Companie welcomes you for some early morning yoga right on the water. You will be able to try different types of yoga and find the one that you enjoy the most : Hatha, Vinyasa, and my favorite Kundalini.
You can check out the whole detailed program on their website.
Every Wednesday or Sunday, at 9 am, you can start your day and practice yoga with a small group of twelve at Calmos, the new lakefront spot. Sign yourself up using Instagram or Facebook or this link – and make sure to keep an eye on those accounts in case they cancel due to the weather.
Let us know how you will treat yourself this summer!
